Y CAMP! Children entering Kdg. – 6th Grade Safe, affordable and licensed care for kids with various interests. Day camp provides an atmosphere that strengthens kids by reinforcing character development.

SUMMER CAMP WEEKS

Week 5 -  God Bless America (June 30-July 3) Join us as we learn about some of the major cities across the USA, while celebrating our country’s favorite traditions; baseball, apple pie, ice cream, and more!

Week 6 - Adventure! (July 7—11)* Ahoy mate! Pirates, mermaids, the lochness monster! Treasure maps, scavenger hunts, and buried treasure! This week includes a fun trip to Adventureland!

Week 7 - Travel Around the World (July 14—18) Vacation to exotic countries around the globe! Play with piñatas in Mexico, make African drums, try European cuisine, learn martial arts from Asia, and much more!

Week 8 - Holidays (July 21-25) Christmas in July, Birthdays, Valentines Day and Thanksgiving. We’ll enjoy them all during this week of celebration.

Week 9 - Under the Sea (July 28—Aug 1)* Beach fun for the whole week! Help us construct an ocean scene as we learn about plants and sea life. Water games and a trip to the Winterset Outdoor Pool make this week one you won’t want to miss!

Week 10 -  Zoom! (August 4—8) Make an airplane, design your own car, learn about the fastest train in the world! From Cars to Nascar, activities that will keep you movin’!

Week 11 - Outer Space (August 11—15)* What do moon rocks and aliens have in common? Find out as we travel through the solar system, ending at the Science Center in Des Moines!

• Weekly challenges with local vendor prizes awarded
• Special lecture on dietary issues given by Jenny Lents, dietician and nutritional snacks offered weekly with recipes for participants.

Join the annual 5K Balloon Days Fun Run/Walk sponsored by the Southern Prairie YMCA and the Bluegrass Optimist Club of Creston.  Youth Fun Run immediately follows the 5K.

Saturday, September 20  8 am

5K Fun Run/Walk: $15 if registered before September 12; $20 if registering after September 12  (includes t-shirt)

Youth Fun Fun: $5 (YMCA water bottle included)

Watch the balloons take off then run with the YMCA before the parade.
